Challenges in practice
The more often a product is changed, the more complex the data management usually becomes. However, this can be significantly improved by efficient CAD integration. Inspection plans for drawing-based parts are sometimes highly complex and contain a large number of dimension points. By creating the inspection plans using drawing stamping, it must be possible to economically establish the relationship between the inspection plan and the drawing or between the dimension point and the inspection characteristic.
Solution QS1
The CAD integration of QS1 allows you to create your drawing-based inspection plans by digitally ‘stamping’ the relevant dimension points. The associated inspection plan with its inspection characteristics (= dimension points) is created automatically. You can add comments, symbols, shape/position tolerances, etc. as required to enrich the drawing data.
A convenient drawing comparison function is available for your version management. QS1 allows you to create inspection plan versions analogue to the drawing versions; in conjunction with the parent child logics of inspection planning, including the required use of the inspection characteristic associated with the dimension point (e.g. initial sampling, series inspections, certificate characteristics). For inspections during development, drawing stamping is of course also possible directly for the respective inspection orders, e.g. initial sample orders for tool release.
