Quality plays a key role

A lime deposit of above-average purity is no guarantee of high-quality lime. KFN's specialised personnel ensure the consistently high quality of the various lime products. A quality control laboratory ensures that the requirements of national and international standards are met. Quality therefore not only comes from the mountain, but above all from the experience and expertise of the KFN specialists and QSC.

The quality-relevant processes at KFN have been monitored with QS1 since January 2014. After a short project implementation phase of just four months, all laboratory tests - from analyses of the drill cores in the quarry to the entire production process and outgoing goods inspections - are now carried out using QS1 solutions. Thanks to QS1, works test certificates and certificates of analysis are generated automatically at the touch of a button.

A key criterion for the decision in favour of QSC was the in-depth process and data integration of the QS1 standard software into the ERP system from Comarch, which was introduced at the same time.

The ‘Elggis’ has been a valuable quarrying site for limestone in Switzerland since 1900. Kalkfabrik Netstal AG, KFN for short, has developed into the largest and now only white lime producer in the country. Thanks to its motivated employees and excellent product quality, KFN has been able to maintain and further expand its market position. In addition to lime products, ‘Chalchi’ - as KFN likes to call itself - produces gravel and crushed stone, which are used in building construction and civil engineering.
