Fast track to quality: How Steinmeyer found an integrated solution in record time

In our first report on August Steinmeyer GmbH & Co. KG we were able to report on a successful CAQ project. But that was just the beginning. When the initially chosen QM solution proved to be inadequate during the course of the project, Steinmeyer quickly decided to change direction - and in favour of QS1. A fully integrated quality management solution was realised within just a few months. The go-live took place in January 2025 - hand in hand with the APplus ERP system

The turning point

Initially, the external QM system Babtec was implemented alongside APplus. However, as the implementation progressed, weaknesses in the integration and functionality became increasingly apparent - particularly in batch tracking and the ERP link. The result: frustration on the part of the customer and the question of alternatives.

The decision in favour of QS1

The targeted collaboration and strategic partnership between QSC and Asseco convinced Steinmeyer's management of the benefits of a fully integrated solution. The decision was made on 13 May 2024 - with one clear expectation: implementation had to be fast.

Fast track - from decision to go-live in record time

A specially coordinated replacement concept, close coordination between all project participants and the high level of standardisation of QS1 made it possible:

  • Installation and integration in just one week
  • Go-live with APplus and QS1 on 7 January 2025
  • Complete integration of serial number tracking, complaint processing and QA processes

Project highlights at a glance

  • Batch and serial number tracking
Detailed traceability of test processes and test results - including live data from APplus

  • WSS terminal integration
Inspection orders visible directly on the terminal, including traffic light visualisation and direct access to QS1
Faults are recorded from the WSS terminal - efficiently and consistently

  • Service requests → Complaints
Authorised service requests from APplus are automatically transferred to the QS1 complaints module. The workflow includes error analysis - right up to 8D creation

Conclusion

The project shows that a well thought-out solution with clear standard integration is not only convincing in terms of quality, but can also be implemented in record time. QS1 and APplus now form a consistent digital platform for production and quality at Steinmeyer - a real best practice case for integrated quality management.
